Critical Care Nurse - Ground Transport

Requirements:
REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
Current Illinois RN License
Current AHA BLS Provider status
Current ACLS Provider status
Current ECRN certification or an EMS System approved equivalent pre-hospital educational program.
CFRN (helicopter only)
MUST OBTAIN THE FOLLOWING CERTIFICATIONS WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF EMPLOYMENT
PALS/ENPC Provider status
NRP Certification
BTLS, PHTLS Provider status or TNS/TNCC Certification
Certification in a critical care specialty (CCRN, CEN, CTRN)
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 3 years of combined current critical care experience (example: ICU, CCU, ED, or EMS)
Management of the unstable patient of other etiologies
Management of the patient requiring mechanical ventilator support
Management of the patient requiring hemodynamic monitoring

CCT RN
Critical Care Nurse participates as a member of the Critical Care Transport team, to monitor any equipment, and/or medications that are not within a Paramedic scope of practice.
-functions under the standing orders of the transferring physician from the sending hospital.
-Works with the Paramedics as a team member to provide a broader scope of care for the patient.
-Provides appropriate documentation for the care provided during the transport, in conjunction with the Paramedic team.
-Reports directly to the Director of Medical Services/Education. This position has sufficient authority to assure the safe and efficient transportation of the critical patient.
