Are there any programs out there that do interfacility transfers like scene calls? For example, keeping the aircraft hot and running while the med crew goes in and packages the patient and then using hospital staff to assist load? What are your thoughts on this? Safety concerns?

Femoral (Venous) Line insertion

Hi, I am doing a research paper on medevac flight teams, their crews and the advanced skills they perform during the patient care process. I am specifically looking for information currently on femoral (venous) line placement. I appreciate anyone who is willing to reply and help me gather some information. The information I need to know is:
Which program do you work for?
With what frequency are your crews placing them?
What is your currency training program comprised of?
Do you utilize a Cath Lab for femoral sticks?
Do you use a mannequin also?
How many "sticks" do you have to gain per quarter, etc?
What patient populations are you placing them in (e.g. Burns, renal patients, multi-system trauma, cardiac arrest)

CNBC posted a really great article on flight chaplains the other day, thought I'd share. Seems like there are a lot of benefits with having one on board.

Hey everyone, I'm curious as to what kind of shifts you guys are working. 12 Hours v. 24 hours? Hourly, salaried?

Great Quote

"Whenever we talk about a pilot who has been killed in a flying accident, we should all keep one thing in mind. He called upon the sum of all his knowledge and made a judgment. He believed in it so strongly that he knowingly bet his life on it. That his judgment was faulty was a tragedy, not stupidity. Every instructor, supervisor, and contemporary who ever spoke to him had an opportunity to influence his judgment, so a little bit of all of us goes with every pilot we lose."
